Light on the Horizon
There, in the distance
A flicker, a flame
Bright like the sun
Beautiful and glorious
On the horizon
Rests forever in a nutshell
Bigger, bolder
All the sacrifices
Lead to that point
Where the future resides
Victory is common
Success at every turn
I run to the horizon
To the light
Where living becomes its own reward
And possibilities are infinite
Discussion:
The author compares a bright future to the sun's beauty on the horizon. It's bold, beautiful, big and glorious like the sun. The author "runs to the horizon," which in other words means that she runs toward the reward of her sacrifices, a better life.
