In my third poetry collection book, The Next Step I wrote about the aftermath over going through one of the toughest moment of my life. The collection explorings self-healing, and dusting yourself off to move on with your life.
I was young and knew little about how dark the world and humans in general can be. Healing is difficult. Trying to find some little spark in you to help you get out of your own darkness can be hard work, but nothing ever heals unless you are willing to put in the work.
My mother use to say, "you can't help someone who won't help themselves." How true she was. It took years to move on from my devestating relationship and bad friendships, but one day comes the next step, and it was well worth the effort.
